There was country named Gorkha in Nepal. The residents of the country used to call themselves as Gorkhali. It grew up bigger and bigger and once it turned into Nepal. The ancient state of Gorkha is now a mere district of Nepal. It is one of the 75 districts of our neighboring country. Gurkha, also spelled as Gorkha or Ghurka (Nepali: गोर्खा), are people from Nepal and northern India^[1] who take their name from the eighth century Hindu warrior-saint Guru Gorakhnath.^[2] His disciple Bappa Rawal, born Prince Kalbhoj/Prince Shailadhish, founded the house of Mewar,Rajasthan (Rajputana). Gurkhas are best known for their history of bravery and strength in the Indian Army's Gorkha regiments and theBritish Army's Brigade of Gurkhas. The Gurkhas were designated by British officials as a "Martial Race". "Martial Race" was a designation created by officials of British Indiato describe "races" (peoples) that were thought to be naturally warlike and aggressive in battle, and to possess qualities of courage, loyalty, self sufficiency, physical strength, resilience, orderliness, the ability to work hard for long periods of time, fighting tenacity and military strategy. The British recruited heavily from these Martial Races for service in the British Indian Army.^[3]

Former Chief of staff of the Indian Army, Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw once famously said about Gurkhas:

Where is Gorkha District ?

Gorkha District (Nepali: गोर्खा), a part of Gandaki Zone, is one of the seventy-five districts of Nepal, alandlocked country of South Asia. The district, withPokharithok, later known as Prithivi Narayan Nagarpalika as its district headquarters, covers an area of 3,610km² and has a population (2001) of 288,134. It is the location of the ManakamanaTemple.^{[citation needed]} Also, the temples of great sageGorakh Nath and goddess Gorakh Kali temple is located in district, after which the district got its name. STOP STIR FOR GORKHALAND

In the above Sunday page article (published in AAJKAAL on 7 September 2008) Mr Tushar Pradhan explained why the movement for a separate Gorkhaland should be stopped in India. He made it clear that the so-called Gorkhas may launch such a movement only in Nepal, never in India or any other country. There is no 'Gorkha' in India. There are only 'Indian Nepalis' or 'Nepalese' people settled in India. They should not be treated or identified as Gorkhas.

ALREADY  YOU HAVE  READ IN THE PART ONE OF THIS MATTER  THE HUGE  AND  HUGE INFLOW OF NEPALI SPEAKING PEOPLE MEANS THE NEPALI CITIZENS  THOSE WHO ARE SETTLING DOWN HERE IN INDIA PERMANENTLY. DR. KAR SAYING THAT THE PROBLEM IS IN THE CASE OF NEPALI ONLY AS BECAUSE THRE IS NO PASSPORT/ VISA REQUIRED TO COME INDIA. FOR A CHINESE OR ARMENIAN IS NOT A PROBLEM. ITS A NON ISSUE.GOVERNMENT MUST TAKE INITIATIVE TO SEGREGATE THE NEPALI NATIONAL SETTLED IN INDIA AS BECAUSE IN DARJEELING PARLIAMENTARY CONSTITUENCY HAS RECORDED NEPALI SPEAKING POPULATION GROWTH ABOUT 1000 PERCENT IN 6 DECADES. HE WAS PLACING EXAMPLE : IN 1951 THERE WERE 88958 NEPALI SPEAKING PEOPLE IN DARJEELING DISTRICT. IN 2001 IT ROSE TO 7 LAKHS 78 THOUSAND AND 528. THAT IS THE GROWTH RATE IS 775.16%. WHERE IS THE NUMBER OF ELECTORATES IN COOCHBEHAR CONSTTUENCY WERE 812583 IN 1957. IN 1991 THE ELECTORATES IN COOCHBEHAR CONSTITUENCY WERE 1116523.WHILE BANGLADESH BORDERING COOCHBEHAR HAS A CHANCE OF INFILTRATION FROM BANGLADESH THERE IS AN INCREASE OF 303940. BUT IN DARJEELING PARLIAMENTARY CONSTITUENCY HAVE THE INCREASE OF ELECTORATES IS 3 TIMES THAN COOCHBEHAR. IT IS CLEAR THAT THE DARJELING PARLIAMENTARY CONSTITUENCY HAS GOT THE BURDEN OF NEPALI NATIONALS WHO HAVE PARMANENTLY SETTLED IN THE DISTRICT. IT IS CLEAR THAT NEPALI NATIONALS ARE STILL COMING WITH THE HELP OF 1950 INDO NEPAL FRIENDSHIP TREATY. AFTER COMING HERE THE PEOPLE OF NEPAL MANAGING VOTER ID CARD, RATION CARD AND EVEN BPL,APL CARDS. THEY ARE ENJOYING ALL THE BENEFITS WHICH ARE MEANT FOR ONLY INDIAN CITIZENS.THIS WAY THE FOREIGN NATIONALS ARE ENJOYING THE POLITICAL RIGHT BY THE HELP OF SOME DUBIOUS POLITICAL LEADERS OF INDIA.PLACING THE REFERENCE OF LOTTERY BARRON MANIKUMAR SUBBA WHO WAS TWICE MLA FROM ASSAM AND THRICE THE MEMBER OF INDIAN PARLIAMENT DR.KAR TELLS YOU KNOW THE SAID MANIKUMAR SUBBA IS ALREADY TOOK BIRTH THRICE INDIA BUT HIS CITIZENSHIP HAS CHALLENED AND PROVRD HE IS NOT AN INDIAN AT ALL. CLEAR the gurkha soldiers were not a single ethnic group,tribe,clan or caste but were composed of the mangar, gurung,limbu and rai tribes.  

Has Mr. Subash Ghishing has the courage the say that ' YES I AM THAT GHISHINGH WHO BETRAYED AND CHEATED INDIA WITH FALSE GORKHA IDENTITY?'

Just a small piece of valuable reference of a speech which was delivered in the Constituent Assembly on 19.12.1946 by Bengal general representative as the president of the All India Gorkha League. Let us have a look an excerpt from that speech:

Gorkha is a fictitious identity

While Gorkha is a fictitious identity you have no right to have a regiment in the name of Gorkha community. So my humble submission : Please abolish the Gorkha Regiment. As per Human Rights Act you can't hire foreign mercenaries in your army. What Britishers will do in this regard I have no headache for that. As far my knowledge goes the Home Minister of India and the Defence Minister both are learned persons. I will request both of them to take steps immediately for abolishing the Gorkha Regiment. We must have Indian men in our army and other forces. At this juncture I am not mentioning the numbers of foreign people in our various forces. However, we are having thousands of foreigners in our several forces.

While Gorkha is a fictitious identity you mean the Union government of India as well as West Bengal state government or any other state government of India has no right to talk with the leader of the fictitious Gorkha community.

While I have already proved that Gorkha is an artificial community created by GNLF leader Mr. Subash Ghishingh we must raise our voice against the parties those bearing GORKHA in their name. These parties should be banned immediately.

We have already got the document that GORKHA named community is a criminal creation by Subash Ghishing in connivance with the then Home Minister Buta singh and the former MP of Darjeeling Mr.Inderjit Khuller, the government has the duty to take action against all of them without any further delay. The creation of GORKHA COMMUNITY IS A CHEATING WITH THE CONSTITUTION OF INDIA AS WELL AS WITH INDIANS.

I AM ANXIOUSLY WAITING TO SEE WHAT STEPS ARE GOING TO BE TAKEN AGAINST THESE CRIMINALS THOSE WHO ARE STILL GETTING THE VIP STATUS.

Nepalese in India under Gorkha Borkha

You will find world famous Gorkha Beer in Nepal. You will find Gorkha Airlines. You will find several Gorkha named hotels. You can go to Gorkha Town , the district head quarter of Gorkha District. This district is one of the 75 districts in Nepal. But you will never find Gorkha community or race in Nepal or any other parts of India. Yes I had been to Gorkha Town. Its a fantastic journey. Today I will place here one document which was placed before Indian Parliament by Smt Dilkumari Bhandari in the year 1992 during the debate for the inclusion of Nepali language under Eighth Schedule. Dilkumari, the then MP from Sikkim submitted her humble submission this way: I would like to quote from one document released in 1973 by Subash Ghishingh, I do not whether I am allowed to take his name or not. But I will read from his own document. I quote - "Jhoota jati gorkhali prati nilojhanda party ka general secretary subash ghishingh ka ghor birodh. ( the meaning of the sentence is as general secretary of nilojhanda I Sri Ghishingh is totally against fictitious Gokhali identiy) then Dilkumari starts - Ghishing again said: Hami gorkhali hoi no (meaning is we are not gorkhas). Then Ghishing says - Hami Nepali (we are nepalis). Then Ghishing says - We are Nepalis and can preserve our language and culture by reamaining Nepali.
After Ghishing's quote and unquote I will place one more piece from Parliament document. The then MP of Darjeeling Mr. Inderjit Khuller on record saying on 20.4.1992 during the debate on Nepali language "The West Bengal Government objected to including the 'Gorkha' word in the name of Hill Council. Eventually, Shri Buta Singh, the then Home Minister, and I as privileged to play the role of a mediator in thorny and highly emotive dispute, were able to persuade both the the then Prime minister, Rajiv Gandhi, and the West Bengal Chief minister Jyoti Basu, to accede to the GNLF party's demand and give the proposed Council name Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council . While submitting this two pieces of Parliament documents I must acknowledge my fellow researcher Mr Dipak De of Kolkata who is regularly submitting his valuable findings to the amnesty international in regard to the artificial and fictitious identity. Mr. Dipak De is a human rights activist and a M Phil in human rights. He is studying the Gorkha, the cheating to the indian constitution issue from last year (means 2009).
